WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR
The Guild awards a perpetual trophy annually for Winemaker Of the Year (WOTY).
To win this trophy the guild member must enter at least two 'mini-comps' during the year and submit a combined total of at least ten wines during the year/at the annual competition.
The member with the highest average score is named WOTY.
Gordon is a founding member of the Guild. He won the inaugural WOTY award and on three other occasions. He has the honour of having scored a 'perfect 20' score for a potato wine that he made. Gordon believes that minimal additives are required to make the best tasting wines. He also loves 'the stickies'.
The late John Lee is one of the early members of the Guild. He has won the WOTY award ten times and was regarded as a master winemaker
Chris has been a member of the guild since 1980 and has won the WOTY award 12 times. He has also won numerous awards at various wineshows. He is a highly respected winemaker and is the guild's chief wine judge.
Elaine is a long time member of the guild and has held committee positions of secretary, treasurer and newsletter editor. Over a period of time Elaine has graduated from associate to well respected wine judge
Jacques also has 'history' with the guild he has been a past president and has won many winemaking awards. He is famous for his 'blue grass' wine. Jacques moved to Wodonga some years ago and established the Wodonga Winemaking Guild
